Art Lexcia Podcast speaks to Botsotso Jesters Allan Kolski Horwitz n Kabelo Mofokeng | ep 123

Greetings, World

Today, I have the privilege of sitting down with Allan Kolski Horwitz, founder of the legendary Botsotso Jesters, and Kabelo Mofokeng, a well-known writer. Allan recounts the story of how the Botsotso Jesters were created in the mid-90s, including all of the major role players, the writers and poets who worked with them, and what they stand for. He also discussed the processes behind their publishing and current titles like Siza Nkosi's "u-Grand Malume". Kabelo looks at how the different writers' techniques and styles shaped what Botsotso Jesters has become, as well as how their many titles have influenced artists and writers in contemporary South Africa. It is evident that Botsotso Jesters has had a huge impact on South African culture, and it was inspiring to hear the story behind it from its founder and from another renowned writer.
